IMDB Rating: 3.7
Director: Kaizad Gustad
Starring: Naseeruddin Shah, Sachiin Joshi, Sunny Leone
Jackpot Review: In the early 90’s , Kaizad Gustad struck a chord with Indian audience with niche films in form Bombay Boys. Over the years, he has lost energy to tap in quality product. Jackpot is yet another dud from Kaizad Gustad which will be forgettable. Jackpot tells the story of con attempted by amateur gang members. Things turns topsy turvy when they discover about reverse con played upon them.
Right from the openings credits inspired by a James Bond film to the typical action thriller set in Goa, Jackpot does not liven your spirit at any moment. Kaizad Gustad tries hard but falls flat on the face with weak script. The film do have some twist and turns but it never re-ignites the mood. Cinematography and art direction are below the mark as if you are watching some 90’s drama. Naseeruddin Shah is only silver lining in the mess. Sunny Leone and Sachin Joshi both can’t act.
Infact it is very difficult to make sense out of seriies of scenes put together randomly. Jackpot is a thriller but it lacks punch. Naseeruddin Shaw looks like an interesting blonde Bob Marley hairstyle, brings a wicked gleam into every frame. And yes, in almost every frame, he is trying to make sense of the plot. There is an ideal breeding ground, where all kind of cons can find a suitable home. This is Jackpot -The Casino. The largest ship in the harbour. And were open 24×7. Con artists are most welcome to try Jackpot: Trust. Greed. Sex. Money. Poker. River. This is The Full Jhol.
